Welcome! My name is Dr. Anthony (Tony) Ocepek. In August 2022, I completed my doctoral studies in political science at the University of Pittsburgh! Currently, I am a Visiting Lecturer in Comparative Politics with the Department of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, I was a post-doctoral research associate under the guidance of Dr. Ariel Armony, Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs and Director of the University Center for International Studies, at the University of Pittsburgh. My research and teaching focus on comparative politics, political parties and party systems, political representation, vote preferences and vote choice, in particular within the European context. Additionally, I examine international organizations, with a focus on European integration and the European Union.
My dissertation research examined the effects of a euroskeptic party’s participation in governing coalitions and supranational institutions on the potential moderation of the party’s policy positions and how the party’s positions impact voter behavior.
